Kiwis and passion fruit are Bay Area winter favorites and lemons and limes are always in abundance. Adding some visual fun to our holiday punch bowl, we added sliced star fruit and frozen ice with pomegranate seeds (arils) for a festive presentation.
4 cupspassion fruit juice (can substitute mango passion fruit juice)
8 cupssparkling water
1fresh star fruit, sliced
1fresh kiwi, sliced
1lemon, sliced
1lime, sliced
1 cuppomegranate seeds (arils) frozen in ice cube trays
Ice as needed
Suggested spirits (optional): 6 cups sparkling wine or prosecco.
Garnish: ½ cup fresh mint leaf sprigs
Not sweet enough? Add honey to taste.
Instructions
Sparkling Passion Fruit Kiwi Citrus Punch1. Mix all juices into a punch bowl. Add sliced star fruit, kiwi, lemon and lime slices to infuse additional flavor.2. Cover and place in the fridge for several hours.3. Right before guests arrive, uncover the bowl and pour in sparkling water (and, if you choose, optional sparkling wine).4. Taste and adjust flavor balance, adding honey to sweeten if needed.5. Add pomegranate ice cubes, extra ice and top bowl and glasses with fresh sprigs of mint or slices of fruit.6. Serve.
