California might be known for its fresh produce, but there is nothing quite like picking the sweet tastes of summer for yourself at a local U-Pick farm. In summer, this region affords us bountiful supplies of fresh berries, as well as other surprise delights into the fall. Some farmers allow visitors to come and pick fruits and veggies by the pound or pint—and even supply the buckets! Others let you bring your own baskets. Remember to check hours and seasons online before you go, as nature and farmers’ hours are never predictable.
